Veteran Texas Republican Rep. Michael Burgess will retire at the end of this term, according to a Republican familiar with his plans.
Burgess originally came to Congress in 2003 and is a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
The doctor’s retirement was first reported by Texas media, including the Dallas Morning News.
